Enhanced Rating Shell
Added features to support for GDMdef Enhanced Rating Shell, which is
available on Psion Workabout Pro computers sold by GDM representatives.
New features include:
- Automatically use enhanced GDMdef rating shell when creating a
new rating shell on Workabout Pro for trials based on ARM 7 GDMdef
study definitions.
- Full support for entering subsample ratings into enhanced rating
shell, including automatic borders to identify the last sample in
each plot.
- Option to select which site description entry prompts and fields
are included in rating shell, with option to save view, thus
offering method to easily adjust rating shells for different
purposes.
- Support for Help tab that is included in enhanced rating shell.
- When information is pulled to an optional hidden field, such as
plant foliage height and unit, the entry fields are automatically
made visible.
- New user prompt during pull when an application code is not
entered in special application code link field in rating shell, yet
application linked information is entered in that rating shell
column.
- Added notification messages when:
- Overwriting an existing site description entry with one read from
rating shell.
- Invalid field entries are read from rating shell, such as text
entered in a field that only accepts numbers.
- There is not a field defined in current trial for a rating shell
field entry.
- Changed to always define mean and standard deviation formulas
for at least 6 assessment columns.
- Added support for ActiveSync versions 4 and newer (Vista Sync
Center = version 6), which define only a partial path of the PC
synchronization folder (path is relative to user's Documents
folder).
- Changed so a rating shell comment is only added to an existing
trial comment when that comment is not already the last part of the
existing trial comments entry. This avoids repeatedly adding the
same comment when pulling multiple times from a rating shell.
- Fixed problem that required field rules were not correctly
applied for some rating shell fields on Select Headers to Push to
Excel field selection tree.
- Fixed problem that option to automatically export to rating
shell all assessment header rows with information would remove rows
from rating shell when trial assessment header was blank.
|
Study Editors
- Added support for conversion from mm (millimeters) to m
(meters), primarily used to calculate canopy height for crop height
measured in mm.
- Fixed problem that if treatment number was
changed in a trial by editing treatment number in the treatment
editor, one of the trial treatments may be deleted.
- Fixed problem that some blank attachment lines were not
automatically deleted when saving a study.
|
Reports
- Added a sample label that includes bar code, and a second bar
code sample label that prints treatment products:
- Large Plot # Sample, bar code
- Large Plot # Sample + Product, bar code
- Fixed problem that the wrong means may be reported for some
treatments on a plot data summary report which is printed after a
standard summary report. This could occur for any data columns where
untreated treatments were automatically excluded (such as from ARM
Action Code S05E) for any treatments printed after (below) the
untreated.
- Changed to avoid an error 6 that could occur when paginating a
very wide columnar multi-study report.
|
General
- Added warning message if user with a corporate ARM license opens
a study using a different corporate study definition, so user is
aware of possible settings changes that may be forced by the new
customization.
- Added method to perform special actions when study definition is
automatically changed while opening a study. Based on the original
study definitions that were used, ARM can now perform actions such
as moving information to different fields or changing field entries.
- Changed File - Send To so default report set paths work properly
for ARM 7 installations with either C:\ARM7 or C:\ARMdef study
definition root paths.
- Fixed problem that could not select multiple studies for
database import using Selected checkbox.
- Fixed problems with compound @OR expression evaluation in
validation scripts.
- Fixed problem that a settings profile change was not detected
when user changed study definition directory using File Options
dialog, then opened a study that uses a study from the newly
selected definition directory.
- Fixed: 'Error during Check for Duplicates Due to error number
-2147217900 in 0. Syntax error (missing operator) in query
expression 'FILENAME= ... '
that occurred when study file name or path contained an apostrophe
(such as Bill's Documents).

Study Definitions
- Added recognition in GDMdef studies for formulation types used
by a corporate client that are not GIFAP or CropLife/ACPA codes:
FH = Fluid Heterogeneous
OB = Oil Based
XL = Other, liquid formulation
XS = Other, dry formulation
Also added recognition of:
BA = unknown dry formulation - a non-standardized code
GF = Gel for Seed Treatment.
- Added automatic copying of Project Number in protocol
description to Project ID in Header. Project ID is a new optional
Header field that is hidden by default.
- Changed to not convert Formulation Concentration Unit G/KG to
GA/KG during study validation. G/KG is valid for GDMdef studies, and
changing it can break a link to ingredients in product lists.
- Added new speed unit MPS (Meters per second) to validation list
for Ground Speed Unit field on Application tab of G-All7 site
description. The updated validation list is installed for new ARM 7
installations, not for update installations.
- Added new rate unit G AE/PLANT (AE=acid equivalent), and
recognition for ML/STEM rate unit as a hidden unit.
- Updated Guidelines validation list with most recent EPPO
guidelines, and with CEB methods for France.
- Changed to ignore a grid prompt such as "1." for validation list
column headings, so "Guideline" displays as column heading in
validation list instead of "1."
- Fixed error in description of formulation type validation list
for SC. The description portion "fluid, which may contain other
dissolved active ingredient(s)," was replaced with "water".
- Fixed problem that GDMdef rate units G/1000 FT2 and G/100 M2
(unit code = GW) were incorrectly identified internally as AI
instead of product units.

ARM ST
- Fixed an error 9 when selecting more than 20 studies from study
list in Tools - Begin Summary.

Changes for ARM 7.3.6 (Second Edition) released February 20, 2007
|
|
Study Editors
- Changed to accept hyphen '-' as missing data
symbol when pasting assessment data from Excel or another program.
- Changed default automatic header entries for
Abbott transformation, so original entries of PESINC or PESSEV are
preserved in calculated column. If these are changed to CONTRO as
initially implemented, it is not possible to distinguish between
Abbott transformed severity and incidence data columns, which often
occur in the same study.
- In Help, added more information to Control
Correction Transformations section about how ARM calculates Abbott
transformation.
- Rate unit enhancements for data entry and
copy/paste:
- Allow pasting Other Rate and Unit to Rate and Unit fields, and
also the reverse, so it is easier to moving entries between these
treatment editor column pairs.
- Improve recognition of units pasted or typed into Rate Unit, like
for imported units.
- Added validation warning message for crop protection studies if
other rate and unit are entered but primary rate and unit are blank.
Primary rate and unit fields are very important for product
calculations and trial summarizations.
- Enhanced Site/Protocol Description View
options so when a site or protocol description field that is hidden
by default is made visible using View Options dialog:
- When in a grid, rebuild grid on editor to immediately show the
field. (Previously had to close and re-open editor before field
became visible.)
- Enforce required field rules for definition hidden fields when
they are made visible.
- Fixed problem in plot data editor that
changes to an existing user-entered transformation formula are not
always saved when using these steps:
1. Click into column created by user-entered formula.
2. Display transformation dialog.
3. Edit formula.
4. Click OK.
Previously the revised formula was used to recalculate the data
column, however the changed formula was not actually saved. This is
now fixed.
- Fixed problem that formatted text copied from
MS Word 2003 SP2 cannot be pasted into some comment entry fields
that support rich text by using Ctrl-V or Shift-Insert keyboard
shortcuts.
- Fixed problem that could not paste text from
Word 2007 into comment fields that support rich text.
- Fixed problem that ARM closed when text was
pasted past character 32,767 of the comments editor.
- Fixed problem when merging rich text into a
site description entry field that already contains rich text.
Problem resulted in storing only the merged text, and the original
text was lost.
|
Study List
- Enhanced to select several studies by
highlighting multiple rows as one or more blocks. Previously
double-clicking on Selected column heading was the only way to
select all visible studies.
|
Reports
- Changed Factorial AOV report so when error mean square is
0, then show P(F) = 1 for Rep or any main effect (A, B, or C) on the
report. This is parallel to logic used for AOV Means Table report.
- Enhanced AOV Means Table report when analyzing very small
assessment values, such as when all values are less than 0.01.
Changes are:
- Display more decimals accuracy for Sum of Squares and Mean Square
on full AOV tables.
- Improved accuracy of descriptive statistics.
- Fixed problem that mean comparisons may be wrong for very small
values, incorrectly identifying some non-significant differences as
significant.
- Added French translation of labels, used when program
language is set to Francais.
- Added new 'Experimental Cont. (1/trt line)' label to use
as container label for experimental products.
- Spray/Seeding Plan report changes:
- Added support for BIOEN/ML and BIOEN/KG (BIOEN=Biological
Entities) formulation concentration units, and product amount
calculations for BIO EN/HA and BIO EN/A rate units.
- Added new invalid calculation message "NA Form Type" printed when
a BIO EN rate unit is used with non-biological formulation type.
- Apply density conversion and calculate weight in "g" for a liquid
formulation applied at a %V/V rate when option is active to weigh
liquids. Previously this combination was always forced to "ml".
- When printing calculation formulas, the printed calculation
formulas now include any density adjustment, and any scaling by 1000
done for very large or very small product amounts.
- Support calculating number of seeds in a mix based on thousand
grain weight entry when mix size "g seed" or "lb seed" is used with
/SEED, /n SEED, /UNIT, or /n UNIT seed rate units (such as MG/SEED
or ML/100000 SEED). (Must determine number of seeds in mix to
calculate product amount.)
- Fixed AOV Means Table report problem when mean description
is "Standard Error" and Arranged is "Beside Mean", the "StErr" would
print between columns.
|
Study Definitions
-
Added new temperature and humidity entry fields to site description
Moisture grid.
- Rate units:
- Added MG A/UNIT and MG/UNIT (Milligrams per Unit Seed) rate units.
- Added Other Rate Unit SEEDS/POT.
- Enabled calculations for hidden rate units TBS/MOUND, ML/MOUND,
G/MOUND, and G A/MOUND.
- Changed validation for rule CP_Appl to
require that in a completed trial:
- Altitude is entered.
- Latitude or Longitude is entered if Map Reference field is not
filled.
- Updated some French translations in G-All7
site description.
- Added formulation type DF to formulation type
list. (DF is a non-GIFAP formulation that may not be accepted by
some customized study definitions.)
