Changes for ARM 7.1.1 (Second Edition) released April 5, 2004

back

General

  • Changed to support reading SE files from database.

  • Enhanced so treatment validation lists will add entries for skip validation fields (e.g. Density, Registration Number, Cost, etc.) when adding to list.

  • Corrected problem that studies were opened via double-click in Explorer, any changes were saved in the default data directory.  This would create a duplicate study file if the original study were opened from a different directory.

Study editors

  • Corrected problem where validation list editor lost focus after user was prompted with a Yes/No or Ok/Cancel dialog, such as the "No matches found. Add item to list?" dialog.

  • Fixed a treatment editor problem that could occur when scrolling to the right with the horizontal scrollbar if the cursor is in the last row of the treatment grid.  Sometimes the display would flicker rapidly, and a stack overflow error may occur.

Labels and Reports

  • Moved plot numbers up one row on "Cont. Multi-Row Lg.#, Mix Details 99x68mm" label so plot numbers do not overlay the first treatment line.

Changes for ARM 7.1.1 released March 22, 2004                              back

General

  • Added “Undo” to right-click menus.

  • Added “Clear the default User name” checkbox to the ARM Login dialog.

  • Added Protocol/Site Description View feature to hide selected fields or sections on entry screens and printed reports.  Hidden fields display as gray on the editors, and are automatically excluded from protocol/site description reports.

  • Added “Copy Current Repeating Section” menu item when in a repeating section to mark and copy the current repeating section.

  • Added the ability to specify an alternate Push/Pull directory, for saving directly onto a storage card in a PDA.

  • When automatic treatment renumbering feature is turned off, ARM will no longer renumber a new treatment added to a trial.

  • Corrected several issues for the Field Layout Tool and the Find/Replace dialog.

  • Added support for opening ST Criteria *.Stc and field *.Fld files directly from Windows Explorer.

  • Corrected a problem with displaying “What’s This” help text.

Study editors

  • Added support for right-click “Paste” to the Field Map Settings grid.

  • The Field Map settings now accepts a paste of GPS coordinates, and rows are automatically added as needed.

  • Added an “Open” button to the Field Layout dialog that allows opening a different field map for the Field Layout dialog window.

  • Corrected run-time error that could occur when a “Rate” is changed on the Ingredients dialog.

  • Added “Sort by” to the Plot Data right-click menu with sub menu choices of Plot, Treatment, Assessment, and Harvest order.

  • Added “Copy Current Data Column” and “Convert Yield” to the Plot Data right-click menu.

  • When resizing data columns in plot data editor, column width changes can be applied to one or all columns and are now saved.

File Import/Export (EDE) Enhancements

  • Added a check during EDE import for items saved into a number field, to remove any thousands separator and convert comma to a decimal.

  • Fixed an Error 9 in 0 that could occur while importing treatments from EDE.

  • Added automatic rounding during EDE importing when a decimal value is stored into a whole number field.

  • Added support for importing a FieldPro EDE with no plot data.

  • Added support for importing a PIAF 3.0 EDE.

Study Definitions and Related Files

  • New Spanish and Portuguese versions of the standard GDMDEF study definition files.

  • Added new calculating rate units to GDM standard rate unit table:

  • US unit MG A/YD2 and metric unit MG A/M2 (MG A/M2 already existed, but was associated with US rate unit G A/YD2)

  • US unit MG/YD2 and metric unit MG/M2

  • GDMDEF Treatment and Data Header Fields

  • New Crop ID field (with validation list) in G-All7 and G-Seed7.def.

  • New Accession Number field (added to G-Seed7.def) - the Entry Name validation lists are updated to include this new field.

  • Other Rate Unit field length increased to 25 characters.

  • New Crop Name and Pest Name (Pest Name only in G-All7) fields.

  • These fields are linked to revised validation lists that are merged with existing lists to retain personal list entries.

  • General Protocol/Site Description Enhancements

  • Most repeating sections (Moisture, Maintenance, Notes, Soil Elements, etc.) are increased from 99 to 999 repeats.

  • The Crop/Pest and related Stage at Application sections repeats are increased from 40 to 99 instances.

  • Site Description Field Enhancements

  • Added validation lists to store Study Director and Investigator fields.

  • Changed so cooperator validation list displays for all cooperator fields.

  • Added several harvest related fields to the Crop Description section: Harvest Date, Harvest Equipment (new validation list), Harvested Width, Unit, Harvested Length, Unit

  • Crop/Pest Stage Percent Stage at Application fields no longer conditionally required.

  • Added Wind Direction Field (with new validation list) to Application section.

  • Application Equipment field length increased to 12 characters.

  • Protocol Description

  • New Revision Number field

  • New Revision Date field (automatic date stamp)

  • Note: These fields are hidden by default on the Protocol Description View.

Labels and Reports

  • Corrected problem when printing Protocol and Trial Treatment reports together where missing component, treatments or extra lines could occur.

  • Added option to Print to Excel feature with no formatting, so no cells are merged.  (This format is friendlier to Excel macros.)  Format choices are All, Quick (merged cells) and None.

  • Added a “Check CV” calculation of the repeated check in seed strip trials.  The Check CV value is reported on AOV Means Table when the option to print CV is active.

  • Corrected pagination error that could occur when the Data Collection report is printed after a Summary report with numerous columns.

  • Added “Allow hidden fields on report” option to Global Settings.  This option will allow treatment fields that are hidden on the Treatment View to print on reports.

  • Changed the "Plot # Spray Randomiz. (1/Trt)" and "Lg. Plot # Spray Randomization (1/Trt)" labels so they print one label per treatment, while previously they printed one per plot.  Moved these two labels to immediately below the container labels.

  • Added “AgCan Tear-off Plot (harvest order)” label.  This label is the AgCan Tear-off Plot 6”x3” label sorted in harvest order.

  • Added “Trial Map Comments” option to the Plot Map report options.

  • Corrected problem that a line of comments may be cut off a report when printed.

  • New “Container Export” label to use for exporting treatment information to Excel, so sorted listings by treatment name for product quantities is possible.

Graph

  • Enhanced box-whisker graph so that data labels display the raw/arithmetic mean instead of the percentile mean.

  • Fixed a problem that sometimes data was missing on a graph, such as some treatment boxes missing for a box whisker graph.

Summary Across Trials

  • Changed so ST ignores the ARM AOV option to perform mean comparison only when there is a significant Treatment P(F) when printing the ST Summary

  • Enhanced ARM ST Summary report so when selected data header fields are printed (Data header options of Automatic or Current view) ARM ST will now only print the data header fields that are selected.  Previously ARM ST printed all fields on the rows that contained selected fields.

  • Fixed problem that mean comparison test of grand means may be wrong when there is missing data.  Treatment mean values used internally for mean comparison test were slightly larger than the actual treatment mean.

  • Added option to pivot (transpose) a ST Summary report when it is printed to Excel.  This is useful for summaries with many columns, to better fit the summary into Excel.

  • Fixed an error 9 in 4300 that could occur while summarizing some trials.

  • Fixed error that would occur when summarizing using a criteria file that contained no treatment criteria.

  • Added ST Summary Option to de-transform the grand means on the ST Summary Report.  When the De-transform means option is selected, ARM ST will automatically treat the ARM Action Code field as criteria.  Columns must contain the same type of transformation in order to be summarized together.  The four transformation types are:

    • TS - square root

    • TA - arcsine square root percent transformation

    • TL - log transformation

    • Not transformed (by TS, TA, or TL)

  • Added a new ST Summary report option "Sort Individual Trial Means" that sorts the individual trial means for each grand column by the trial ID.
