Will my trial data be erased or corrupted when I install a program update?

back

When installing a maintenance update, only ARM program files are updated (replaced). Windows system files may also be added or updated due to the addition of new or enhanced features. The ARM directory structure of is not changed, therefore no changes are made to any data directories.

Even though installation of a maintenance update does not affect ARM studies, we recommend to back up data on a regular basis.

By using the ARM Backup Data command, you can quickly make a backup copy of all study files changed since the last time you used the Backup Data command.

Click Utilities on the ARM main menu bar, then Backup Data.

ARM maintains a list of all saved studies in a file named BACKUP.LOG, stored in the application data directory. When you select the Backup Data command, ARM loads the study names from the backup log file to the Source file list of the Copy File dialog. You cannot remove file names from the file name list box by pressing the Delete key or double-clicking with a mouse when backing up data.

The ARM Utilities menu also includes commands for Copy, Delete and Move data files.
